AI Settings

In Finplicity > Settings > Device Settings > AI, users can configure AI-related settings.

• AI vendor: the provider of the AI model.

• AI model: the model of AI.

• AI API key: the API key to access the AI model.

We currently support three AI vendors: Groq (default), OpenAI, and Gemini.

Groq (default)

• We recommend meta-llama/llama-4-scout-17b-16e-instruct as your AI model for Groq.

• You can choose any AI model from Groq’s supported models.

• You need to get an API key from Groq.

Note

Groq’s API key is free to use.

OpenAI

• We recommend gpt-4.1-mini as your AI model for OpenAI.

• You can choose any AI model from OpenAI’s supported models.

• You need to get an API key from OpenAI.

Note

OpenAI’s API key is not free — you must pay at least $5 to use it. You may not need to spend more than $5. Here’s why:

1. $5 is enough for over 10,000 moderate-length API calls using gpt-4.1-mini.

2. OpenAI states that “purchased credits expire after 1 year and are non-refundable.” If you pay $20 but only use $2 within a year, the remaining $18 will expire.

Gemini

• We recommend gemini-2.5-flash-lite as your AI model for Gemini.

• You can choose any AI model from Gemini’s supported models.

• You need to get an API key from Gemini.
