Reduce Data#
Overview#
Reduce Data is a tool to get rid of certain rows of data if the user does not want that part of data, for example, empty values and zero values, to be included in further analysis.

Here is a step-by-step example of using Reduce Data to delete rows with missing values.
Prepare an Excel sheet with data to manipulate (A1:C7 in this case).

Open Finplicity, and then click Data Basics > Reduce Data. The form of Reduce Data will appear, as shown below.

In step 1, select the data range to manipulate. In this example, select A1:C7.
Select the output location. In this example, we will select E1. Now you have finished the first step in this form as shown below, and you can click “Next” to continue.

In Step 2, since we only want to get rid of rows with missing value. Select “delete rows which contain any missing value.”

Now you have finished all the steps in this form, and you can click “Run” to clear data or click “Save” to save this task. The filtered data will automatically be shown in its output location. The row which contain missing value in 4/11/2018 has been removed form the data table.

FAQ#
Can I use Reduce Data for a single column of data?
Yes. Reduce Data will still treat the single Excel cell as a row.
